HOW IT WORKS
When teams register for a Gauna Games event, they choose a charity or school for their funds to support. All registration fees collected for a sport are awarded to the charity or school selected by the winning team. Additionally, any remaining sponsorship funds are distributed equally among the participating schools and charities to ensure widespread support.

For the purpose of transparency and accountability, all funds raised by Gauna Games are collected by our NGO partner, Asociacion De Desarrollo Integral De Tamarindo (ADIT). ADIT is responsible for distributing the funds to each organization. The disbursement is based on the submission of an invoice for a specific project that aligns with their stated needs, ensuring that the vendor providing the necessary service or resource is directly paid by ADIT. This meticulous process ensures that all funds raised directly benefit local public schools and charities in the Guanacaste region of Costa Rica.

Villareal High School
Villarreal High School, our region’s sole public high school with an IB program, is seeking donations for classroom supplies and support for students with special needs.
Brasilito School
Brasilito School aims to install air conditioning in a classroom lacking AC and acquire sports equipment for their students.
Matapalo School
Matapalo School needs funds to shelter their cafeteria from seasonal rain and dust, besides requiring door handles and bathroom renovations for disabled student access.
CEPIA
CEPIA, a nationally recognized Costa Rican nonprofit since 2005, seeks support to continue its mission of enhancing culture, education, health, and social cohesion among disadvantaged youths and families in Guanacaste.
Local Animal Shelters
To supply resources for organizations caring for rescued animals in need of food, aid, shelter, and adoptive homes.
Centro Educativo M.E.T.

Join us at Hemingway’s Restaurant & Potrero Brewery for food, family, and fun. Games and prizes all day long!
- Planned Activities
- 9am – Swim to the Plank and Back / Present by 8:00am to purchase a ticket at Hemingways
- 11am – Free Basic Intro to Brazilian Jujitsu taught by Jeremy DeLano, a Black Belt Instructor with Gold Coast Arte Suave at Hemingways
- 1pm – Beer Pong Competition at Potrero Brewery
- 5:30pm – Salsa Dance Competition – $100 Dollar Gift Certificate to Hemingways at Hemingways
